knit. sock. love. now in Finnish!

Lookie what I got in the mail. Knit. Sock. Love. in Finnish!

Knit. Sock. Love. – just like Sock Innovation – has been translated into Finnish and published by Minerva. I wasn’t involved in the translation, so I’m not sure what sukkia. rakkaudella. means. Google Translate says “Socks. With Love.” which makes me think of a James Bond movie. From Finland… Socks. With LOVE. Anyone fluent in Finnish want to shed some light? Every time I mention the Finnish edition of Knit. Sock. Love. someone will ask me “Haven’t you already finished that book?” Hee hee.

In any case, I’m tickled to be translated into Finnish.

    Whoa, in Finnish <3
I'm a native fin and although I manage to read and knit patterns that are in English, I know many who need the pattern to be in Finnish so that they can knit it. So it's really nice to have it in Finnish <3

Yes, "sukkia. rakkaudella" is "socks. with love". (The title doesn't specify are the socks designed or knitted or worn or what "with love", but I think that the title is good, because it can mean all of those things.) In many books that are translated to Finnish the title is somewhat different than in the original, so to me it's not a surprising translation. I suppose they change the title a little to make them sound more Finnish or fluent in Finnish.

    Hi,
You book is great! I knit maybe 100 pair of sock per year. From you book I got so much new inspiration. My opinion of the name of the book is that it’s good. Finnish language is so different from english that I think this name is pretty close the original.
